How a Thunderstorm Begins

When the air cools as it rises. Water vapor condenses and forms cumulus clouds. When condensation occurs, heat is released and helps the thunderstorm grow. This is how a thunderstorm forms.

 

A thunderstorm forms when three "ingredients" colide.

These three ingredients are:

  1. Moisture

  2. Instability
